letting the outdoors in

i am currently working with a couple whose young family loves the outdoors. as we design the concept and visualize the house, we are focusing on seamless transitions between the outdoors and in. here are some images i've been running across and constantly emailing to my client! i also have tons of windows in my own house so we always feel like we are outside and i LOVE the idea of doors and easy access from nearly every room!

sorry for my absence. i was enjoying the beach (my VERY favorite place to be) with these two sweet babies!

being at the beach (and the onset of summer in general) has me craving beach cottages, peaceful, simple furnishings and lots of white and turquoise!

please remind me again why don't i live on water ...

kitchen love

one of my current favorite kitchens is by beth webb and nancy pendergrast. love the symmetry, simple lines, neutral finishes.

i thought (a little too much) about what to write for my infamous "first post". i have tons of great ideas but want to get the feel of blogging before i get to the good ones. :) so the decision was made to keep it simple. 

i think kitchens appeal to me because they are as much (or more) about the structure, organization and building process than the furnishings. and what a better room to love since we always end up there!
